Well Dressed Salad Bar

Well Dressed Salad bar lets you design your own salad bowls, but they offer far more, with other tasty and healthy options, right in the heart of Chinatown. The tofu burger is my fave, with vegan (tofu) fetta cheese, there’s also curry and soba. However We first stopped at Well Dressed after spotting the vegan cakes and cute Donuts out front, (they are working on gluten-free options too!). Not everything is vegan but most items have the option. Service is also super friendly.

Close to Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, at the end of Smith Street, a short walk from Chinatown MRT Station.
Open Daily 11:00 – 22:00

Living Cafe & Deli

Living Cafe is a great cafe with lots of Raw, Vegan and Gluten-Free options! It is not entirely vegetarian but the range on offer is pretty good. The vegan tofu burger and wedges were great and they have a few v-g-f cakes too! The staff weren’t all that knowledgeable on item specifics but they are friendly and happy enough to check with the chef. The cafe has a chilled atmosphere with a lot of space and light.

Take a bus from Botanic Gardens MRT, or its a 30min walk from there.

Jiv Jago

A friendly and relaxed cafe near Arab Street, Jiv Jago offers a range of Western Vegetarian foods with a smile. They seem to get quite busy and have a studio upstairs they can open up for extra seating and large groups. The main problem for me here was that almost all dishes (being Western) contained gluten, and they didn’t really know what I was talking about when asking for gluten free dishes. The vegan dishes are not noted but the staff can point them out.

I tried a little bit of the ‘beef’ burger and the ‘fish’, both coming with chips, and the fish with baked beans. They were not bad, but I prefer those at Veggie Cottage or Greenzilla, which are also cheaper. The burger seemed a little… “meaty”.. if that makes sense. Which might be what some people are after but its not my thing.

Jiv Jago is open late, has a good atmosphere, and is better for those who don’t have issues with gluten. They have PIZZA too. And non-alcoholic beer. Mains are around S$9.

Short walk from Bugis MRT.

Greenzilla – CLOSED

Unfortunately Greenzilla is now Closed, you may still be able to make an order over the phone if over S$35

Greenzilla is a great veggie burger cafe in Singapore. What’s more, their burgers AND buns are gluten free! They have several different burgers to try, including Thai Black Bean (my fave), Tofu Fusion, Oasis, Herbshroom and more. They are a good size and at around S$6 good value.

The burgers come with a serving of coleslaw, and they also have good sides like fried oyster mushroom, sweet potato & pumpkin pops, cauliflower & tofu nuggets. Almost everything is vegan, except one of the sauces contains honey, which comes with the pumpkin pops, so select a different sauce for that. The staff know about the ingredients used so you can always ask and confirm. Thirsty? How about some organic juice from Phoenix NZ!

The staff are knowledgeable about the ingredients used too.

Burgers S$6-7, sides and drinks S$4~.

VeganBurg

VeganBurg is just like it sounds, a fully Vegan Burger joint & fastfood chain. In Singapore! All burgers have the same gluten-free patty, but the toppings and sauces differ to give you options like” Cracked Pepper Mayo” & “Hawaiin Teriyaki”.

The burgers were OK, nothing special in my opinion, and unfortunately no gluten-free bun option. They do offer a no-bun option now where you just get lettuce leaves instead, but that doesn’t really make a meal. The seaweed fries were quite good.
The juice chillers are just syrup not actual juice. The sides are good and include desserts and ice cream! The ice cream has a great outer chocolate coating, and the ice cream consistency is perfect, it just needs a stronger vanilla taste. Its quite bland and for $5 not really worth it.

Burgers are around S$6-8 or $10-12 if you turn it into a meal (with fries and a drink). Overall, its a little pricey for what is essentially fast food, but if you are craving a burger, some good fries, or just some “western” food, give VeganBurg a try.

Eunos branch is very close to MRT and has the best opening hours, Marina Boulevard is annoyingly closed on weekends, and Grandstand at Turf club can be a little hard to get to, requiring a bus from Botanic Gardens (151, 154)

Eunos branch is also offering a limited delivery service, call 6844 6868.
